WOODSTOCK, Ga. – Robert Harris Homes, frequently referred to as a Dream Builder, has earned the distinction yet again with their recent participation in ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover.  As one of the many volunteers, Robert Harris Homes participated in making the Canton based Tipton-Smith’s family dream come true amid more tragedy and loss any family should have to bear. The Extreme Makeover team and Oakwood Homes requested volunteers to help construct and finish an amazing new home in less than one week. Robert Harris Homes, along with six other builders and RBC Centura Bank answered the call and happily contributed their time and resources for this deserving family. The entire team succeeded and a project that would normally take over four months was finished by the one week deadline so that the Tipton-Smith family could move in their beautiful new home.  To successfully complete the construction, organized and led by Oakwood Homes, each of the volunteer builders agreed to take a major section of the project. Robert Harris Homes was assigned exterior stone work, inside and outside painting and one-half of all interior tile work. The project began and ended in the cold and rainy days of early January.
 
One of the most dramatic moments occurred when the one of the builders had his entire team of framers walk off the job. Tony Perry, CEO of Oakwood Homes, LLC, called Joey Hipps COO of Robert Harris Homes in a panic. Two hours later, Hipps arrived on site in his framing belt accompanied by 47 other Robert Harris Homes framers. In tears of appreciation, Perry said if Hipps had not shown up with those framers the house would not have been completed on schedule.  “Building a 5,000 square foot home in five days is a staggering feat. It was incredible to see all the volunteers come together to finally make the Tipton-Smith’s family dream a reality,” said Bob Harris, president of Robert Harris Homes.
